Cincinnati Police arrest nearly 200 in crime sweep

A two-day crime sweep yielded nearly 200 arrests, eight guns, more than 700 grams of drugs and $10,000, Cincinnati police said Thursday. The concerted 48-hour effort Tuesday and Wednesday targeted community complaints in neighborhoods where residents have voiced strong concerns about drugs and their role in more serious crime. The majority of arrests were drug-related and occurred in Over-the-Rhine and Price Hill. Police arrested more than 70 people in Over-the-Rhine and 34 in Price Hill, where a senior at Elder High was shot outside the school Sunday night. [more ] and [more ]
