Voter forms will carry equal weight, state says
/Trying to calm rising protests from around the
country, state and local elections officials vowed Wednesday not to
disqualify any voter for using a registration form that is too light. A
Sept. 9 directive by Secretary of State Ken Blackwell required forms to
be on at least 80-pound text weight paper. Common copier paper is 20
pounds. But his spokesman, Carlo LoParo, told county boards of
elections Wednesday to count anyone submitting a lighter form as
meeting Monday's registration deadline. The news pleased voter
