Voter forms will carry equal weight, state says

Trying to calm rising protests from around the country, state and local elections officials vowed Wednesday not to disqualify any voter for using a registration form that is too light. A Sept. 9 directive by Secretary of State Ken Blackwell required forms to be on at least 80-pound text weight paper. Common copier paper is 20 pounds. But his spokesman, Carlo LoParo, told county boards of elections Wednesday to count anyone submitting a lighter form as meeting Monday's registration deadline.
