Looking to find a fountain of youth in the voting booth

Getting young people, particularly African-Americans, registered to vote in time for the Nov. 2 presidential election is blossoming into a cottage industry featuring popular-culture leaders.Nationally, in 2000, 42 percent of 18- to 24-year-olds actually turned out to vote, while 70 percent of citizens 25 and older did so, according to the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement.
