Wilder wants to reform Richmond

Douglas Wilder, the nation's only elected black governor, wants to be Richmond's first elected mayor since 1948. Wilder says when he began the Wilder-Bliley Commission with former U.S. Rep. Thomas Bliley, he never intended to return to the political arena. But after the group was successfully able to make the office of the mayor an elected position, Wilder said public requests and pressure were too much for him to turn his back on. [more]
