NY Parents Seek 18 Mil-- School workers sued, accused of racial hostility

Three parents have filed an $18 million lawsuit against the Johnson City School District, accusing employees of creating a "racially hostile environment." The parents accuse the district of failing to address racism and encourage academic success among black students. The lawsuit says black students are subject to racial slurs by white students and sometimes by bus drivers. [more]
