The Sentencing Project's Jeremy Haile, Federal Advocacy Counsel, recently appeared on The Inside Scoop with Mark Levine to discuss alternatives to our failing drug war. The Congressional Research Service recently found that the explosive growth of the federal prison population has been driven by policy changes, including increased mandatory minimum sentences for drug offenses, and that persons convicted of drug offenses make up the largest portion of newly admitted inmates.
