Latino Congresswoman Acknowledges 'Our Bombs Murder Civilians from Palestine to Iran'
/A day meant to celebrate a couple’s new beginning instead turned into devastation, Congresswoman Delia C. Ramirez said in a post on X, as she accused the United States of killing innocent women and children with its bombs in Palestine and Iran.
“From Palestine to Iran, our bombs are killing innocent women and children,” Ramirez wrote.
Ramirez referred to a US aggression on the small town of Kuhestak on Tuesday that killed five people and injured at least 70 others. The harrowing massacre has renewed concerns over civilian casualties in the US war on Iran and is the most significant such case since a missile struck an Iranian primary school in February, killing scores of children and teachers.
Ramirez said Congress could no longer “turn a blind eye” to war crimes by President Donald Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
“The time to hold warmongers accountable is now,” she wrote, calling on Congress to pass the Block the Bombs Act, reclaim its power, and “put an end to this endless war.”
Ramirez’s call for Congress to challenge the administration’s wars comes as concerns grow over the potential consequences of further escalation with Iran. Conservative commentator Tucker Carlson has separately warned in late August of the risk of a nuclear strike, calling for Trump to be removed immediately. [MORE]
