The distinction between a so-called freedom fighter and a terrorist is in the hands of those who have the power to define and propagandize their own subjective reality to make it an objective truth of others. A freedom-fighter typically is fighting an invader or occupier of his native land that has been stolen, whereas as terrorist is typically the one who has invaded or carried out acts of violence to take the land from an indigenous people.
