No Racist Suspects will be Charged in the Murder of Nolan Wells, According to White DA's Grand Jury

The grand jury reviewing the evidence in the death of Nolan Wells has found that no criminal charges are warranted at this point, according to the Jackson County Grand Jury Report released late Monday night. 

The report says that the "position of, condition of, time of discovery, and location" of the 18-year-old's body off the coast of Mississippi this July is "consistent with drowning." [MORE]

The 23-member panel was described as a "cross section of citizens" with a diverse racial and ethnic makeup:

  • 12 were White

  • 5 were Black

  • 1 was Asian

  • 2 were Hispanic

  • 2 were Native American

  • 1 identified as "other"
