From [HERE] Similar to past elections, religion played an important role in the 2020 U.S. presidential contest: Republican candidate Donald Trump continued to garner strong support from White evangelical Protestants, while Black Protestants and the religiously unaffiliated backed the Democratic candidate and eventual winner, President Joe Biden.

But religious identity alone does not tell the whole story. Among White Americans, worship service attendance remains highly correlated with presidential vote choice, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of 2020 validated voters.

As in previous years, voters who frequently go to religious services – defined as those who attend at least monthly – were more likely to vote for the Republican candidate in the most recent presidential election, while less frequent attenders were more likely to back the Democrat.

Overall, 59% of voters who frequently attend religious services cast their ballot for Trump, while 40% chose Biden. Among those who attend services a few times a year or less, the pattern was almost exactly reversed: 58% picked Biden, while 40% voted for Trump.

However, these patterns vary by race. Frequent religious service attenders’ preference for Trump was apparent among White voters but largely absent among Black voters. (Due to limitations in sample size, results among Hispanic and Asian Americans could not be analyzed separately.) [MORE]

From [HERE] Police in Gulfport, Mississippi issued a warrant for the arrest of an Ohio man who verbally accosted a Black reporter live on-air on Monday morning (August 30). 

MSNBC’s Shaquille Brewster was reporting live on the area’s conditions hours after Hurricane Ida made landfall when a man, identified by police as Benjamin Eugene Dagley verbally accosted him. 

In the video clip, Dagley is seen pulling up onto the beach in a white pickup truck where Brewster was reporting before he gets out and runs toward the reporter yelling. 

Dagley can be heard screaming “accurately” several times and he even gets into Brewster’s face before Brewster tosses it back to Craig Melvin.

Well, after such a public display caught on camera, it didn’t take authorities long to identify Dagley, with the help of citizens. 

“We would like to thank the public for coming forward and helping identify Dagley,” the Gulfport Police Department tweeted. The department released a statement announcing the charges Dagley now faces –– including two counts of simple assault and one count of disturbing the peace. [MORE]

Black Man who Disobeyed [refused services from those in power] Georgia Cops Nearly Beaten to Death by for Doing So on Video [if government is not voluntary then what is it?]

From [HERE] Another young Black man was viciously beaten by police, this time in Douglas, Georgia.

According to local news outlet DouglasNOW.com, Pernell Harris, 29, was nearly beaten to death by Coffee County Police last week. Now, Harris’ family and the Coffee County chapter of the NAACP are looking for answers.

Police reportedly responded to a domestic disturbance call involving Harris and his girlfriend last Wednesday. Officers tried to arrest Harris when he, according to officials, refused to go with the deputies. Harris reportedly wrestled with the officers until they were able to get him outside of his home. Once outside, Harris continued to resist going with the officers, reports said.

Much of the encounter was recorded on video, which showed police beginning to hit Harris, using a Taser gun to stun him multiple times. Officers then grabbed Harris by his long dreadlocks while they continued to beat on him. Harris was eventually handcuffed and arrested. There were at least seven officers involved in the altercation with Harris.

Harris was taken to Coffee County Jail, where he reportedly struggled to breathe. He was then transported to Coffee Regional Medical Center and remains in the ICU fighting for his life. His face was lumpy and bruised as tubes ran out of his nose and mouth.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has announced it will be investigating the incident.

The first video starts in Harris’ home, as police try to drag him outside.

The video starts after the incident spills into the front yard of Harris’ home. Three officers are shown restraining Harris as they place all of their weight on his back and neck.

In the last video, a woman who is apparently Harris’ girlfriend pleads with him to stop struggling with the officers. Police threaten to use a Taser gun on Harris some more if he doesn’t stop resisting before they threw him in the back of the police vehicle. That’s when the final video ends.

Coffee County Sheriff’s Office has not released a statement, nor has there been any bodycam footage from the incident. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation also hasn’t released any statements.

The Coffee County chapter of the NAACP has also launched its own private investigation. It is also hosting a prayer walk for Harris on Thursday.

The beating of Harris comes days after police in Crescent City, California, shot and killed Robert Anderson, claiming he was wielding a knife. Similar to the Harris case, no bodycam footage has been released.

Democrat Rep. Jewell Jones is offering via Instagram to write letters for his constituents who want exemptions from getting a vaccine, which some workplaces, schools and businesses are now requiring.  

On Saturday, Jones posted an image to his Instagram account, saying, "If anybody needs letter from me to support you filling out an exemption for vaccination for work or school purposes, let me know."

Jones told his 41,000 followers, "can’t make any promises but it’s worth a sHoT.

"God gave us choice: Do good and live, or do evil and die. Choice(s) is/are an integral aspect of the foundation of our world. Why should you be forced to do anything. #HOLLA (at me)."

From [HERE] Nearly 70 years after their unjust executions, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam granted posthumous pardons Tuesday to seven Black men known as the "Martinsville Seven," who were executed for the alleged rape of a white woman in 1951 in Martinsville, Va.

Northam granted the pardons after a meeting with the descendants of the Martinsville Seven. He said the pardons do not address whether the men were guilty, but rather serve "as recognition from the Commonwealth" that they were tried without adequate due process. 

"This is about righting wrongs," Northam said in a news release. "We all deserve a criminal justice system that is fair, equal, and gets it right—no matter who you are or what you look like. While we can't change the past, I hope today's action brings them some small measure of peace."

The history behind the Martinsville Seven

Seven Black men were executed in February 1951 over the alleged rape of a white woman, Ruby Stroud Floyd, in 1949. They were Frank Hairston Jr., 18, Booker T. Millner, 19, Francis DeSales Grayson, 37, Howard Lee Hairston, 18, James Luther Hairston, 20, Joe Henry Hampton, 19, and John Claybon Taylor, 21.

Floyd said 13 Black men raped her on the evening of Jan. 8, 1949, as she passed through a predominately Black neighborhood. 

Floyd identified both Grayson and Hampton as her rapists, but she had trouble identifying the others, according to BlackPast.org, an online reference center for Black history. [MORE]

Pfizer’s Full FDA Approval Leading to Greater Profits [most Americans continue to believe the vaccines are "free" and offered as a public service out of the goodness of Pfizer and Moderna's hearts]

Ahead of last weeks announcement from the Food and Drug Administration that the department would grant full approval of the Pfizer-BioNTec COVID-19 vaccine, Pfizer had already reported a blockbuster year of profits from its vaccine. Now with full FDA approval, plus authorization for a third booster dose, Pfizer could see even greater revenue. 

Pfizer reported $5.6 billion in net income during the second quarter of 2021 — that’s up more than $2 billion (from $3.5 billion) from its second quarter of 2020 report to the Securities and Exchange Commission. In the first half of 2021, Pfizer reported nearly $10.5 billion in net income. The company brought in $6.9 billion in the first six months of 2020. 

As the pharmaceutical company’s income and reputation have skyrocketed from bringing the first COVID-19 vaccine to market, the company’s lobbying efforts have increased as well. In 2020, Pfizer spent $13.2 million on its lobbying efforts — that’s up from $11 million in 2019 and the most the company has spent on lobbying since 2009 during the debate over the Affordable Care Act. The company was the second highest spender in the pharmaceutical and health products industry, with Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America spending more than $25.9 million on lobbying efforts in 2020. So far, Pfizer has spent $6.7 million on lobbying efforts in 2021, the same pace the company set in 2020. 

Pfizer spent much of 2020 lobbying the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the FDA while the two departments weighed recommending and authorizing its vaccine for emergency use.  [MORE]

Dependent Media Took a Break from COVID Propaganda to Cover Afghanistan in Final Push to Re-Manufacture Support for Intervention as $1 Billion in Defense Contracts Possibly Interrupted by Withdrawal

In the months leading up to the U.S. ending its 20-year war in Afghanistan and the Taliban gaining control of the country, major defense companies were awarded contracts in Afghanistan worth hundreds of millions of dollars and spent tens of millions lobbying the federal government on defense issues. 

The Department of Defense issued nearly $1 billion dollars in contracts to 17 companies related to work in Afghanistan that was set to continue past the May 1 withdrawal date. 

It’s unclear what will happen with some of those contracts as the U.S. evacuates operations in Afghanistan.

Texas-based defense contractor and construction firm Fluor received contracts of at least $85 million this year for work in Afghanistan. The company recently said it will “continue to do everything we can to repatriate all employees required to leave Afghanistan.” Fluor spent over $1.4 million on lobbying in the first half of 2021, around $115,000 more than the firm spent in the same period in 2020. 

In May, defense contractor Leidos was awarded a $34 million government contract to continue providing logistics support services for the Afghan Air Force and the Special Mission Wing. The U.S. Army Contracting Command awarded Leidos an initial $727.89 million contract on Aug. 17 in 2017. Leidos spent $1.18 million on lobbying in the first half of 2021. 

On March 11, the Defense Department signed a contract with Salient Federal Services for information technology infrastructure in Afghanistan, a deal worth approximately $24.9 million and set to be completed in March 2022. 

It’s not yet known if these contracts will be voided now that the situation has drastically changed in Afghanistan.

The following day, the Defense Department signed a contract with Textron for $9.7 million in force-protection efforts in Afghanistan, an effort that was expected to be completed by March 2022, long after even Biden’s planned withdrawal date. Textron spent $4.47 million lobbying in 2020 and has already spent $2.4 million in 2021. Israeli Study Shows Natural Immunity 13x More Effective Than Vaccines At Stopping Delta

Well, this study further questions the credibility of relying on vaccines, given that the study showed that the vaccinated were ultimately 13x as likely to be infected as those who were infected previously, and 27x more likely to be symptomatic.

Alex Berenson, a science journalist who has repeatedly questioned the efficacy of vaccines and masks at preventing COVID, touted the study as enough to “end any debate over vaccines v natural immunity.” [MORE]

CDC Chart Implies that People who Die 14 Days After Getting Vaccinated are Still Counted as “Unvaccinated"

Looking at a screenshot of the CDC release, one can observe the definitions for what they consider “fully vaccinated,” “partially vaccinated,” or “unvaccinated.”

According to the chart, “unvaccinated <14 days receipt of the first dose of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of the single-dose vaccine or if no vaccination registry data were available.”

This means if someone was hospitalized, admitted to ICU, required mechanical ventilation or died within two weeks of getting the jab they are being counted as “unvaccinated.” [MORE]

Abrien Aguirre is a board certified occupational therapist in Hawaii and made the claim in an interview with Hawaii Free Speech News.

“I’ve seen 32 elderly people pass away immediately after taking the Moderna vaccine. None of that is being talked about on the news. It doesn’t fit their narrative.

“I’ve seen more patients die from the vaccine than from Covid,” he said.

The health care worker works for the largest skilled nursing facility in Oahu, Hawaii and has worked on three separate Covid-19 wards with elderly patients. 

“The people moved to the Covid unit, didn’t have Covid. They tested positive with the PCR test, but most of them were asymptomatic and only suffering from their pre-existing conditions.

“People with other terminal conditions were listed as Covid deaths, a billing department in a nursing facility had therapists change its medical diagnosis codes from conditions such as pulmonary disorder to Covid to get higher reimbursements.”

Aguirre also claimed that in some instances people were listed as having Covid-19 who had not even tested positive for the alleged virus. 

“It’s just fraud on every level. My advice to people – If your elderly are sick, your grandmother, your great grandmother, your mum, don’t send them to a skilled nursing facility,

“They’re not going to receive adequate care. Treatment is going to be withheld from them, they’re going to be forced to wear a mask all day, and social distance. They’re going to become depressed and want to commit suicide. Because that is what I am seeing in our facilities.” [MORE]

Forced Release of Bodycam shows White Louisiana Troopers Assault a Black Man in His Driveway After a Traffic Stop. 1 Cop Struck Him 18X w/Flashlight. Despite Video Cops Took 536 Days to Investigate

From [HERE] and [HERE] Graphic body camera video kept secret for more than two years shows a Louisiana State Police trooper pummeling a Black motorist 18 times with a flashlight — an attack the trooper defended as “pain compliance.” 

“I’m not resisting! I’m not resisting!” Aaron Larry Bowman can be heard screaming between blows on the footage obtained by The Associated Press. The May 2019 beating following a traffic stop left him with a broken jaw, three broken ribs, a broken wrist and a gash to his head that required six staples to close.

State police did not respond to a request for comment from The Post late Wednesday. But the agency told the AP that Brown, the trooper who is shown on camera beating Bowman, “intentionally mislabeled” his body-camera video and did not properly report his use of force against Bowman. The agency added that Brown “engaged in excessive and unjustifiable actions.”

Bowman’s encounter near his Monroe home came less than three weeks after troopers from the same embattled agency punched, stunned and dragged another Black motorist, Ronald Greene,before he died in police custody on a rural roadside in northeast Louisiana. Video of Greene’s death similarly remained under wraps before AP obtained and published it earlier this year.

Federal prosecutors are examining both cases in a widening investigation into police brutality and potential cover-ups involving both troopers and state police brass. 

State police didn’t investigate the attack on Bowman until 536 days after it occurred — even though it was captured on body camera — and only did so weeks after Bowman brought a civil lawsuit. 

According to police Bowman was stopped because he veered into another lane and then did not immediately pull over. However, because the cops have lied in their reports it is difficult to ascertain the veracity and credibility of the information.

According to the complaint:

On or about May 30, 2019, Bowman noticed a white truck, which appeared to be the police, behind him while on his way home to 1500 South 3rd Street, Monroe La.

Bowman proceeded home as he lived a few streets over from his original destination. Once he made it home, the deputies/officers pulled into his driveway behind him.

Deputy Donovan Ginn and other officers proceeded to ask Bowman questions, Bowman kept his hands in plain view where all officers could view them, as he is familiar with the process.

One of the officers opened his car door and begin questioning him as to whether he had anything on him. Bowman alleges that the officers were referring to drugs or weapons, and Bowman responded that he had none. Bowman asserts that the officers began to pull him out of his vehicle, while other officers begin to arrive on the scene.

Bowman asserts that he was dragged to the ground, face down and officers began to hit and kick him. Bowman asserts that at no time did he resist any of the officers, and the officers continued to beat him for a period of time.

Bowman sustained multiple lacerations; including, a cut to the top of his head, a fractured arm, and broken ribs amongst other ailments. Bowman does not recall an exact number of deputies/officers involved in the beating.

Bowman asserts that the published police report is fabricated, and aspects of Deputy Ginn’s narrative is untrue. Bowman asserts that he was not the aggressor but was actually beaten terribly by Deputy Ginn and other officers. Sheriff Jay Russell is and was at the time of the incidents in command of Deputy Ginn and any/all of sheriff deputies on site and involved in the beating of Plaintiff causing him to sustain multiple lacerations; including, a cut to the top of his head, a fractured arm, and broken ribs amongst other ailments.

The state police released a statement Wednesday saying that Jacob Brown, the white trooper who struck Bowman, “engaged in excessive and unjustifiable actions,” failed to report the use of force to his supervisors and “intentionally mislabeled” his body camera video.

Brown, who resigned in March, has been involved in 23 use-of-force incidents since 2015, with 19 of them involving Black people, the AP reported, citing state police records. In Bowman’s beating, he has been charged with second-degree battery and malfeasance, according to the wire service. Brown’s attorney did not immediately respond to questions from The Post.

Officer Brown has been charged in two other incidents involving traffic stops of Black men, according to the Advocate. Following one of the incidents, which took place in May 2020, Brown reportedly joked with other troopers about beating the man, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Advocate.

“He gonna be sore tomorrow for sure,” Brown reportedly wrote in a group text message. “LMAO … warms my heart knowing we could educate [niggerize] that young man.”

Brown told investigators that hitting Bowman with a flashlight during the 2019 stop was a form of “pain compliance” so that Bowman would get into handcuffs. The Justice Department is now investigating the interaction, according to the AP.

Video footage from a D.C. police body camera shows a police officer shooting 10-rounds into a man found asleep at the wheel early Wednesday morning.

The victim, 27-year-old Antwan Gilmore, was swarmed by police after they found him in a car sitting at a traffic light at the intersection of New York and Florida avenue NE. The officers said that Gilmore was unconscious when they approached the car. They also allege that they saw a gun on his waistband.

In the video, the officer who fired his gun noticed the Capitol Heights man waking up and can be heard saying “watch the hands,” “where’s the gun at” and “should we knock,” before multiple officers start yelling for Gilmore to not move. 

Gilmore’s car glitches forward and stops, before moving forward again. Moments after, gunshots can he heard.

Gilmore later died at the hospital from gunshot wounds.

Police brutality has been a big issue in the United States over the past century, especially for Black men and women. Statistics show that Black Americans are disproportionately killed by lethal force from law enforcement and are 2.8 times more likely to be killed by police than white Americans.

From [HERE] A white Chicago police officer has been placed on desk duty as the Civilian Office of Police Accountability investigates a video that appears to show the officer in an altercation with a Black woman walking her dog.

In cellphone video recorded early Saturday morning at North Avenue Beach in the city's Lincoln Park neighborhood, a woman can be heard screaming for help as she struggles with a CPD officer.

The woman's attorney said the altercation began after the officer seen in the video allegedly asks the woman to leave the beach because it was closed. Following that order, the video shows an altercation between the two.
The woman's attorney said that other people were walking out on the beach, but feels she was targeted because of her race.

"For some reason, this officer decided to specifically interact, and then ultimately address and attack Ms. Brown," said Keenan Saulter, the woman's attorney.

Saulter identified the woman as Nikkita Brown and said she is traumatized from the encounter.

Her lawyer called the incident a brutal and unprovoked attack, saying that she was leaving the beach when the officer put his hands on her.

"She was always in the process of leaving," he said. " She was always walking out of the park."

Former National Football League star Herschel Walker announced Tuesday he’d run for Georgia Senate to unseat freshman Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.). Walker already has the endorsement of former President Donald Trump, but his Senate campaign team also has deep financial ties to the former president and controversial Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.).  

Walker’s team has already formed a super PAC called Third Down Georgia, which registered with the Federal Election Commission in May and raised $27,102 through the second quarter.

The super PAC is incorporated under the Georgia Secretary of State’s office and lists its registered agent as Jason Boles, the treasurer of Walker’s principal campaign committee and a designated agent and custodian of records for Greene’s principal campaign committee. Boles is also the treasurer and custodian of records for Greene’s joint fundraising committee.

Greene, a first-term Georgia representative who is a loyal Trump ally and a supporter of the far-right QAnon conspiracy theory, was stripped of her committee assignments in February after several anti-Semitic comments she made, as well as speeches in which she encouraged violence against elected Democrats, became public.

The conservative congresswoman has also promoted other conspiracy theories about 9/11 and the Parkland, Fla., school shooting. She has propagated Trump’s claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen, and has compared mask mandates to the Holocaust.

Greene has capitalized on the controversy. She has raised $4.7 million ahead of the 2022 election cycle — $3.2 million of which came during the first quarter of 2021 in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. And much of Greene’s fundraising has come from small-dollar donors. In the first quarter of 2021, $2.6 million of Greene’s total contributions came from donors who gave $200 or less. In the second quarter of the year, Greene raised about $1.6 million, $967,045 of which came from small-dollar donors. [MORE]

Raphael Warnock builds war chest ahead of Senate race in face of new voting restrictions

House Democrats’ latest voting rights legislation is sure to become a top issue in at least one 2022 Senate campaign: That of Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock (D). House Democrats introduced the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act on Tuesday, a bill they hope can be used as a tool to respond to the influx of voting restrictions in Republican-led states like Georgia.

The bill focuses on the restoration of preclearance measures, which restrict a state, city or any other smaller governing body from changing local voting laws without getting approval from the Department of Justice or the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia for 10 years or more if the body has a history of racially discriminatory voting practices. Preclearance measures were a significant part of the original Voting Rights Act of 1965, but were struck down in a 2013 Supreme Court decision.

Warnock waged his 2020 special election campaign as a voting rights candidate, running on a platform that included the passage of the John Lewis Act and making Election Day a holiday. Warnock won his runoff campaign after raising $125 million, and spending $103 million. In comparison, his Republican opponent, then-Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.), raised $92 million and spent $71 million. 

And Warnock is looking to build on his fundraising power. Ahead of the 2022 race, Warnock has raised$32.1 million, but some of those contributions may have been raised after the January runoff campaign. His most prominent potential challenger, former Sen. David Perdue (R-Ga.), raised money for a possible 2022 run, around $1.7 million by the end of the second financial quarter of 2021. But he announced earlier this year that he would not run for the Senate seat. 

Around $17 million, or nearly half, of Warnock’s funds come from small dollar donations (individual donations under $200 dollars). And he had $10.5 million in cash at the end of June.

Latham Saddler, a former Trump administration official and Navy SEAL, has raked in the highest contributions among the Republicans still active in the race, with around $1.4 million, followed by Gary Black, the current Georgia agricultural commissioner, with $703,020 and Kelvin King, a metroAtlanta businessman has raised $680,000. [MORE]
