Another suit filed in shooting death of Kenneth Walker during traffic stop

Another lawsuit has been filed in the case of a man who was shot to death by a sheriff's deputy during a traffic stop - this time by the three people who were riding with the victim. Warren Beaulah, Anthony Smith and Daryl Ransom claim in the $3.5 million suit against the city of Columbus and the Muscogee County sheriff that their constitutional rights were violated when they were handcuffed, searched and held for several hours. Five deputies also are named in the suit, which was filed Monday in federal court. Police were looking for guns and drugs the night they stopped a vehicle carrying the three men and Kenneth Walker, who was shot to death by Deputy David Glisson. No weapons or drugs were found. [more]
